Bondi Festival 2023

Waverley Council’s 17 day festival filled with fun, frivolity, creativity, culture and mayhem at the iconic Bondi Beach.

Bondi Festival is a spectacular annual winter celebration of art, culture, comedy, theatre and family fun events held in Bondi from 30 June to 16 July 2023. Featuring award-winning comedy, 5-star theatre, returning festival stalwarts, international guests, cabaret queens, local artists, installations, interactive performances and free events for the whole family to see, do and experience. 

Milestone Creative was engaged to market the Bondi Festival 2022 campaign, and was again engaged to market their 2023 campaign.

Waverley Council was seeking a creative marketing agency to develop an event marketing strategy for the 2023 Bondi Festival, covering every aspect from planning to campaign implementation and execution. This year’s campaign objectives were to build awareness of the overall event to new audiences and sell tickets to each of the events within the program.

The Results.

The Bondi Festival 2023 marketing campaign yielded exceptional results, with an impressive average of 76.5% show capacity filled across 121 shows. This is a 13.09% increase from the 2022 Bondi Festival.

Milestone Creative’s marketing campaign exceeded expectations, achieving strong results by hitting all KPIs and nearly doubling ticket sales year-on-year. 

Despite the short lead time, the marketing efforts produced impressive results. As a result of high demand, additional tickets were made available for some shows and received over 40K attendees to this year’s festival over 17 days. 

The digital campaign generated a total of 249K impressions, with a high GSN ROAS of 32.60x.

The Bondi Festival’s Instagram followers grew by 37.49%, hitting the set KPI and the Facebook event page had an impressive reach of 15.8K

The results of this year’s campaign surpassed all expectations and demonstrated exceptional performance across all touchpoints.
