Milestone was appointed by BlinkTV, the production team behind Eurovision – Australia Decides, to present a Visitation Marketing strategy to position the host destination – Gold Coast – as a destination for cultural tourism and the arts.
The approach included a roundtable workshop with all stakeholders, venue site visits, ticketing planning meeting plus a stakeholder engagement session for all parties to provide final input into the approach. The strategy included destination positioning strategies, ticket and pricing strategies, promotions and of course the event marketing plan, plus accommodation packaging and stakeholder leveraging to maximise reach and achieve the best tourism results for the city.
The strategy was adopted by all of the parties including SBS Tourism Events Queensland, City of Gold Coast Council, Destination Gold Coast and the production company. A phased approach has been taken to the implementation of the plan for the short-lead 2019 events, with full implementation expected to be delivered as part of the 2020 events.
