GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Get set up and ready to go on Google Analytics.

You can add users at the account, property, or view level. The level at which you add a user determines that user’s initial access. For example, if you add a user at the account level, then that user also has access to all the properties and views in the account, with the same set of permissions. If you add a user at the view level, then the user has access to only that view with the permissions you provide. You can change the level of access and permissions for a user at any time.

Users are identified by their email addresses. You can add only users whose email addresses are registered in Google accounts.

To add or modify users, you must have the Administrator role at the account, property, or view level. You can add or modify users at each level for which you have permission.

To delete users, you must have Administrator role at the account level. You can delete users only at the account level. Any user with permission can delete any other user. As a safety measure, if you are the last user who has the Administrator role, you cannot delete yourself.

Provide access to your account using the email addresses above using the instructions below:

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.
  2. Click Admin, and navigate to the desired account/property/view.
  3. In the Account, Property, or View column (depending upon whether you want to add users at the account, property, or view level), click Access Management.
  4. In the Account permissions list, click +, then click Add users.
  5. Enter the email address for the user’s Google Account.
    marketing@milestonecreative.com.au
  6. Select Notify new users by email to send a message to the user.
  7. Select the permissions you want. Learn more about permissions.
  8. Click Add.

Add users to GA4

You can add as many users as you need. To add a new user to an account or property:

  1. In Google Analytics, click Admin.
  2. Make sure you are in the correct account and property.
  3. In the Account or Property column (depending upon where you want to add users), click Access Management.
  4. In the Account/Properties permissions list click +, then click Add users.
  5. Enter the following email addresses:
    marketing@milestonecreative.com.au
  6. Select Notify new users by email to send a message to the user.
  7. Select the permissions you want. Learn more about permissions.
  8. Click Add.

Edit users

You can edit the permissions for any user at any level in an Analytics account. For example, if you have given a user the Viewer role for only a single view, you can subsequently also give the user the Editor role for only that view. Or you can give that user the Editor role at the property level, and thereby also give that user the Editor role for every view in that property.

You can give a user more permissions as you move down the account hierarchy, but you cannot give a user fewer permissions than you assigned at higher levels. For example, if you assign a user the Editor role at the account level, then that user also has the Editor role at the property and view levels (and you cannot revoke those permissions at the property or view level). Conversely, you can assign a user the Editor role at the view level, but assign no permissions at either the property or account level. Learn more about access.

To modify permissions for an existing user:

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics..
  2. Click Admin, and navigate to the desired account/property/view.
  3. In the Account, Property, or View column (depending upon whether you want to modify permissions at the account, property, or view level), click Access Management.

  5. Click the user name, then add or remove permissions.
  6. Click Save.

  2. Click Admin, and navigate to the desired account.

Link Google Ads and Analytics

The linking wizard makes it easy to link your Google Ads account(s) to multiple views of your Analytics property. If you have multiple Analytics properties that want to link to your Google Ads account(s), complete the linking process for each property.

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.
Note: You can also open Analytics from within your Google Ads account. Click the Tools & Settings icon Google Ads | tools [Icon], select Google Analytics, and then follow the rest of these instructions.
  2. Click Admin and navigate to the property you want to link.
  3. In the Property column, click Google Ads Linking.
  4. Click + New link group.
  5. Select the Google Ads accounts you want to link, then click Continue.
If you have an Google Ads manager account, select that account to link it (and all of its child accounts).
If you want to link only some managed accounts, expand the manager account, then select each of the managed Google Ads accounts that you want to link. Or, click All Linkable to select all of managed Google Ads accounts, and then deselect individual accounts.
  6. Enter a link group title.
  7. Turn linking ON for each view in the property in which you want Google Ads data.
  8. Optionally, select Enable Google Display Network Impression Reporting to also include that data in each view.
  9. If you’ve already enabled auto-tagging in your Google Ads accounts, or if you want to let the linking process automatically enable auto-tagging in your Google Ads accounts, skip to the next step.
However, if you want to manually tag your Google Ads links, click Advanced settings > Leave my auto-tagging settings as they are.
  10. Click Link accounts.

Congratulations! Your accounts are now linked. If you opted to use auto-tagging (recommended), Analytics will start automatically associating your Google Ads data with customer clicks.

Let’s work together.
