Google Tag Manager Access Setup
1. Access Requirements
You need to provide Milestone Creative with Admin access to your Google Tag Manager (GTM) account.
If you don’t have one, follow the setup instructions below.

2. Granting Access to an Existing GTM Account

Go to tagmanager.google.com and sign in.

Select your GTM account and container (usually labelled with your website name).

In the top menu, click Admin.

Under the Account column, click User Management.
-
Click the + button → Add Users.
-
Enter marketing@milestonecreative.com.au.
-
Tick Admin to grant full access (this includes managing users and containers).

Under Container Permissions, select:
-
Publish
-
Approve
-
Edit
-
Read
-
-
Click Invite.
-
Confirm Milestone Creative appears as an active user.
3. If the Client Has No GTM Account
A. Create a New GTM Account

Go to tagmanager.google.com.
-
Click Create Account.
-
Enter your Account Name (e.g. your business name).
-
Select your Country.
-
Under Container Setup, enter your Website Name or domain.
-
Choose the Target Platform — select Web.
-
Click Create.
-
Review and accept the Terms of Service.
-
You’ll receive the Container Code Snippet — a short JavaScript code.
Copy this code and give it to your developer (or Milestone Creative) to add to your website’s <head> and <body> sections.
4. Adding Milestone Creative to the New GTM Account

Once the account is created, go to Admin → Account User Management.

Click + → Add Users.
-
Add marketing@milestonecreative.com.au.

Grant Admin access and all container permissions.

Click Invite.
5. Linking GTM to Google Analytics and Ads (Recommended)
To ensure accurate tracking, link your GTM with Analytics and Ads.
A. Add GA4 Tracking Tag

In GTM, click Tags → New → Tag Configuration.

Select Google Analytics: GA4 Configuration.

Enter your GA4 Measurement ID (found in Analytics → Admin → Data Streams).

Set the Trigger to All Pages.

Save and Publish the tag.
B. Add Google Ads Conversion Tag

Click Tags → New → Tag Configuration.
-
Select Google Ads Conversion Tracking.

Enter your Conversion ID and Label (from Google Ads).
-
Set the appropriate Trigger (e.g. “Thank You” page).
-
Save and Publish.
