Milestone speaks at Regional Events Conference

Milestone’s Director, Alana Hay recently attended the Regional Events Conference, on stage with Vicky Lowry from Deni Ute Muster, speaking on the topics of Event Ticketing, RFID and Marketing. The delegates consisted of 70 Councils, regional event owners, operators and suppliers. Topics included accommodation shortages, sponsorship and case studies of regional events in Dubbo, Broken Hill, Parkes, Lismore and Bathurst. One thing that struck us is that NSW has some exceptional event talent who are delivering creativity and innovation in events, with unique content in unique and challenging locations. Not only are they delivering awesome events and attracting big audiences, but they are creatively overcoming unique, local challenges that come with holding events in regional and rural areas: power, water, transport and travel distances, difficult site access, limited skilled labour and volunteers, limited food and beverage suppliers, low stocks of marquees, chairs and other hire equipment are just some of the challenges. One example stood out to us. Parkes Shire Council has managed to overcome accommodation shortages for the Parkes Elvis Festival. They’ve opened up green spaces for self-drive RVs, attracted new markets by providing full-service glamping parks and sites and have engaged a local Real Estate Agent to manage local homes available for rent during the festival period. They’re now looking at train carriages and sub-letting RVs. Seriously impressive stuff Parkes! Congratulations to King Events and Port Macquarie on delivering an exceptional conference, we looking forward to seeing you next year! ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you’re looking to take your event to the next level, and need strategy, marketing, pricing, ticketing, digital or comms for your event, please get in touch with us: marketing@milestonecreative.com.au.
